Quebec’s go-to app for bars and restaurants now includes non-alcoholic and low-alcohol options in its evaluation criteria
MONTREAL, Sept. 10, 2026 /CNW/ — What if the quality of a restaurant’s non-alcoholic and low-alcohol offering became a criterion in its own right when choosing and evaluating where to eat?
Tastet and Éduc’alcool are joining forces to support this trend with the launch of the new Alternalcool™ filter in the Tastet app. The filter makes it easy to find establishments that create and showcase quality non-alcoholic and low-alcohol options.
Tastet is now incorporating this criterion into its evaluation of establishments, alongside other elements that shape the customer experience at restaurants.
This initiative raises a broader question: are the quality and variety of non-alcoholic options becoming an essential customer expectation and a new standard in the restaurant experience? For Éduc’alcool, the goal is to make it easier for people to choose to drink less, alternate, or not drink alcohol at all by giving non-alcoholic and low-alcohol options a meaningful place, without taking anything away from the social or dining experience.
Through this pilot project, Éduc’alcool aims to further expand the reach of Alternalcool™, so that this criterion gains greater visibility and is more widely used across Quebec.
