Kansas City’s historic West Bottoms serves up vintage treasures, friend-filled giveaways, frozen turkey bowling, free line dancing, and fireside fun during First Friday Weekend

Blessings in the Bottoms returns Nov. 6–8, inviting visitors to celebrate friendship, gratitude and the joy of discovery across 13 blocks of historic warehouses, vintage shops and cobblestone streets.
As the holiday season approaches, the Historic West Bottoms offers a shopping experience unlike any other in Kansas City. Multi-story vintage stores and independent boutiques brim with antiques, creatively repurposed furnishings, new fashions, and holiday-ready décor, making it easy to find distinctive gifts to get a jump on that Christmas list.
Part of the Festival of the Full Moon, First Friday Weekends November theme is Blessings in the Bottoms. The event pairs vintage shopping with local food, outdoor fire pits, and unexpected twists. New this year, the district is awarding Bless Your Bunch giveaways to two lucky individuals for a gathering with eight of their friends during Blessing in the Bottoms. Saturday’s event will also host a Thanksgiving-inspired frozen turkey bowling game and free line dancing at 13th and Hickory.

Gobble, Wobble, and Roll
Forget traditional bowling balls. Saturday brings a turkey-sized twist to 13th and Hickory with Gobble, Wobble, and Roll, a frozen turkey bowling game that puts a whole new spin on turkey day! Step up to the lane, give that bird a whirl and see if you can gobble up a strike. No need to be a turkey on the lanes. It’s all for fun, so waddle on over and let the good times roll!
Visitors can also step into the fun with Boots Scoot and Boogie, featuring D3 Stepper leading free outdoor line-dancing instruction. Whether seasoned dancers or first-timers, participants can learn a few moves, join the fun, and show off their footwork on the historic streets.
Outdoor fire pits create a place to gather to enjoy seasonal treats and soak up the district’s atmosphere.
Gathering for Gratitude and Preparation for the Holiday Season
From one-of-a-kind vintage finds to distinctive furnishings and gifts, the West Bottoms invites shoppers to browse at their own pace and discover something unexpected around every corner. More than 30 stores, restaurants, and entertainment venues make the district a destination for shoppers, collectors, decorators, and anyone who appreciates a good find with a story.
Visitors can take a break from browsing with Kansas City barbecue, café favorites, local beverages and food-truck offerings.
The November celebration is the second-to-last First Friday Weekend of the year, but the holiday fun continues into December. The district’s final First Friday Weekend takes place Dec. 4–6, featuring the Old-Fashioned Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday, Dec. 4, at dusk, with live entertainment and festive treats. Many West Bottoms stores will also open on weekends leading up to Christmas, giving shoppers additional opportunities to discover distinctive gifts and vintage treasures throughout the holiday season.
