MONTRÉAL, Nov. 4, 2026 /CNW/ — ADM Aéroports de Montréal today announced its financial results for the third quarter and the nine months ended September 30, 2026 as passenger traffic continued to grow and measures were implemented at YUL to mitigate the impact of construction on passengers’ airport experience during the summer.
Passenger highlights
- Traffic at YUL totalled 6.7 million passengers for the third quarter of 2026, up 2.5% from the same period of 2025. This increase is largely attributable to the decline in traffic recorded in August 2025, when a labour dispute involving one of the airport’s major airline partners resulted in a significant number of flight cancellations. A total of 17.5 million passengers travelled through YUL during the first nine months of 2026, up 1.7% from 2025. Of note is the growth in the domestic and international sectors, which posted increases of 3.9% and 2.0%, respectively, compared with the same period last year. The transborder sector (U.S.) declined by 2.1% compared with the corresponding period in 2025.
Financial results at-a-glance
- EBITDA (earnings before net financial expenses, income taxes, depreciation and impairment and share in the results of joint ventures1) was $135 million for the third quarter of 2026, a decrease of $4.4 million, or 3.1%, compared with EBITDA of $139.4 million for the same period of 2025. For the nine-month period ended September 30, 2026, EBITDA was $328 million, down $7.4 million, or 2.2%, from EBITDA of $335.4 million recorded in the first nine months of 2025. EBITDA reflects revenue growth, driven in particular by higher aeronautical fees and the implementation of an AIF applicable to connecting passengers, offset by an increase in operating expenses that outpaced revenue growth. This year, the increase in operating expenses is primarily related to initiatives implemented to mitigate the impact of the 2024–2028 Flight Plan on users.
- Capital investments were $304.5 million for the third quarter of 2026, an increase of $106.7 million, or 53.9%, against $197.8 million for the corresponding period of 2025. Capital investments for the nine-month period ended September 30, 2026, totalled $789.4 million, an increase of $301.4 million, or 61.8%. For the first nine months of 2026, investments in the Airport Program amounted to $685.6 million ($391.0 million in 2025), and those for the Airport REM Station totalled $103.8 million ($97.0 million in 2025).

Recently Implemented Initiatives
- The P4 parking facility at YUL became the first airport infrastructure and the first parking facility in the country to earn internationally recognized Envision Verified certification from the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure (ISI). Opened in February 2024, the P4 parking facility is one of the first projects under Flight Plan, the comprehensive infrastructure modernization program implemented by ADM for Montréal-Trudeau International Airport.
- Following the federal government’s announcement of its intention to review the governance model for Canadian airports, ADM is collaborating actively and rigorously as part of the ongoing process. The organization will ensure that the federal government has all the relevant information it needs to continue its analysis by drawing on the cutting-edge expertise its teams have acquired in the development and operation of passenger-focused airport infrastructure.
Quote
“It was a very busy summer at YUL Montréal-Trudeau International Airport, as reflected in our results. With an ever-increasing number of destinations connecting our city to the rest of the world and new routes set to be announced in the coming months, enthusiasm for travel shows no signs of waning.
That’s why ADM is continuing to modernize its infrastructure to better meet the needs of our airport’s users.
During this period of transition towards facilities better suited to growing demand, we would like to thank travellers and employees for bearing with major construction projects that are already shaping YUL’s future. Throughout this period of transformation, our teams are focused on implementing mitigation measures to ensure that everyone who passes through our airport has a smooth experience.”
