AUBURN, Ala., Oct. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Students networked, interviewed and learned about job opportunities from more than 35 employers recently at the Fall Education Interview Day in Auburn’s College of Education Building.
The event, held each year in the fall and spring, is a partnership of Auburn’s College of Education and Auburn University Career Discovery and Success.
Karlee Hall, integrated marketing and communications coordinator for Career Discover and Success, emphasized that Education Interview Day is a useful event for all students, regardless of where they are in their academic journey.
“Education Interview Day offers freshmen the opportunity to speak with different school districts, hear what those districts are looking for and determine what skills they need to develop throughout their academic career,” Hall said. “For seniors, there is a real opportunity to leave this career fair with a job offer in hand. It’s truly a one-of-a-kind experience that benefits all students.”
The event is open to students of all majors and allows them to learn more about a variety of school districts from all over the country. Representatives from Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, Florida, Virginia and more were on campus to speak to students.
Angela Jarecki and Kelly English attended the event representing Greenville County Schools in South Carolina. They have been coming to Auburn’s Education Interview Day for several years.
“Of all the colleges we visit — and we visit a lot of schools — the candidates at Auburn are very prepared, come professionally dressed with resumes in hand and showcase good manners,” Jarecki said. “The candidates here are so well prepared through their classes, and we’ve definitely hired several Auburn alumni.”
A senior planning to graduate this fall with a degree in chemistry education, Thomas Cleckler attended Interview Day in hopes of landing a job.
“It’s a great chance to gain interview experience in a professional setting and learn from those already in the education field,” Cleckler said.
Maddy Mooneyham, a senior majoring in elementary education, plans to graduate in December and look for a job in Georgia.
“This event was helpful because it allowed me to get familiar with interview questions and understand what schools are looking for as I prepare to graduate and look for a job,” Mooneyham said. “It’s even more helpful that we get to do it in the comfortable environment of our College of Education Building.”
