Another Executive Gets a Bigger Office—Watch the “Synergy” Press Release Soar

Edge Total Intelligence has named Jaci Tomek Chief Business Officer, effective October 19, 2026, tasking her with running sales, business development, marketing and partnerships — the execution layer of a go-to-market restructuring announced October 7. Translation: the company decided its revenue engine needed rebuilding, and hired someone to rebuild it. Whether that’s turnaround or theatre depends entirely on what happens over the next four quarters, and press releases are, historically, terrible predictors of the answer.

Tomek’s résumé is the credible part of the story. Twenty-five-plus years in tech sales leadership, with real federal-market scars: Chief Revenue Officer at Andesite AI, the U.S. Public Sector Cortex team at Palo Alto Networks where she landed a nine-figure deal, building Aerospike’s public sector business from zero, and running U.S. Public Sector at RSA post-NetWitness with an 86% three-year CAGR. Stints at Symantec, LookingGlass, and advisory roles at Dragos, Wickr and Phantom Cyber round it out. She also sat on edgeTI’s own board from May 2023 until September 25, 2026 — which cuts both ways. She knows where the bodies are buried; she also knows exactly what she signed up for when she declined re-election, then signed up anyway.

Her mandate is threefold: fix professional services so deployments happen in weeks rather than quarters, scale the integrator and reseller channel across defense and industrial customers, and offer licensing models flexible enough to survive government procurement’s baroque contracting rituals. That last item is where most defense software startups go to die. The Pentagon doesn’t buy software like a enterprise SaaS customer, and the procurement cycle alone can outlast a CEO’s tenure.

CEO Jason Nichols frames it as executing a growth strategy across military branches, allied forces, and the maritime, manufacturing and critical-infrastructure supply chains. Ambitious for a TSX Venture-listed micro-cap — a disclosure that, notably, includes going-concern uncertainty in its own risk factors. When a company’s forward-looking statements acknowledge material doubt about its ability to continue as a going concern while simultaneously announcing a growth strategy, a seasoned investor reads both lines. The defense-tech graveyard is full of excellent platforms that never cracked the sales motion; edgeCore’s “operational intelligence” positioning competes in a crowded field where Palantir’s shadow looms over everyone.

To her credit, Tomek isn’t selling a magic wand — she’s talking about strengthening solutions, services and partnerships, and contracting options that fit customer needs. That’s the unglamorous work that actually moves revenue in this sector. The skeptical question isn’t whether she’s qualified; she demonstrably is. It’s whether a micro-cap with concentrated customers, long procurement cycles and capital-market dependence can convert a competent hire into a compounding revenue line before the balance sheet demands otherwise.

Hiring great people is necessary. It has never once been sufficient.
