From Childhood Roots to a Carrollwood Homecoming: Sparkle Grooming Co. Opens October 12

Trisha Jordan and Kendal Potesta grew up a mile from the new salon. Now, they’re bringing dog care and community connections to the neighborhoods that raised them.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Oct. 7, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — For Trisha Jordan and Kendal Potesta, Sparkle Grooming Co.‘s Tampa Bay debut begins close to home. The two grew up approximately a mile from the brand’s new Carrollwood salon, where Trisha and her ownership partners will welcome their first appointments Monday, October 12, at 12917 N Dale Mabry Hwy. The opening brings the wellness-focused dog grooming franchise to a neighborhood woven into their childhoods, school days and first jobs.

Sparkle Grooming Co. launches its Tampa Bay expansion with a Carrollwood salon opening October 12, led by hometown franchisees Trisha Jordan and Kendal Potesta, who grew up a mile away and whose ownership groups plan five area salons.

For Trisha, a Chamberlain High School alumna and co-owner of Sparkle Grooming Co. Carrollwood, the connection reaches all the way back to her first paycheck. At 15, she worked at a movie theater in the very same plaza where the salon is opening. Kendal, a Gaither High School alumna who is developing separate Sparkle locations in Valrico and South Tampa, shares those Carrollwood roots. Together, their ownership groups are bringing Sparkle to the Tampa Bay communities they have long called home.

“My first job was right here in this plaza, so coming back as a business owner means a lot to me,” said Trisha. “We want this salon to be a place where our neighbors feel welcome, their dogs receive consistent care and we can support the local businesses and rescue organizations that make this community special.”

That neighborhood focus will be on display at an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, October 10. Neighbors are invited to tour the salon, meet local pet vendors and connect with Mercy Full Project, the salon’s local animal rescue partner, which will bring adoptable puppies. Guests can enjoy mocktails and pup cups, explore founder membership rates and participate in a PAW Passport drawing for a year of grooming by visiting participating vendor tables.

Opening weekend plans also include $45 one-year rabies vaccinations through the salon’s veterinary partner, with a complimentary Sparkle Guest Pass valued at $45 for the first 25 vaccination guests. An additional spa raffle will feature contributions from local beauty and wellness businesses alongside dog spa services from Sparkle. The team will also participate in a dog-focused community event at Carrollwood Village dog park Sunday, October 11.

The partnership with Mercy Full Project will continue beyond opening weekend. Beginning after the salon’s first three months of operation, the Carrollwood team plans to donate a portion of each membership to the local rescue organization, supporting its work rescuing animals and helping them find homes.

Trisha brings experience overseeing Florida operations as a regional vice president for Orangetheory Fitness, while Kendal brings experience as a Chicken Salad Chick franchisee. Across their two ownership groups, five Sparkle salons are planned to open in Tampa Bay in the coming months, beginning with Carrollwood.

Sparkle is pioneering the Quick-Service Pet Care (QSPC) category by combining salon-quality hygiene and grooming with recurring wellness memberships, convenient online booking and a hospitality-focused experience. With a dedicated focus on dog washing and grooming, the brand helps pet parents make consistent professional care part of their dogs’ ongoing routine.

Sparkle requires its groomers to complete AKC safety certification, and the Carrollwood team’s staff receive pet CPR certification through the American Red Cross, reinforcing the salon’s focus on safe, attentive care.

Appointments begin October 12, and booking is already available. Before opening, local pet owners can secure founders membership pricing. Guests can also experience Sparkle’s approach to routine grooming through the brand’s Guest Pass program.
