Guidelight Expands to North Carolina with Charlotte Clinic

Expansion brings more comprehensive mental healthcare to the region – offering partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient options

CHARLOTTE, N.C., July 21, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Guidelight, a leader in evidence-based mental healthcare, announces the opening of Guidelight SouthPark, the company’s first clinic in North Carolina. Located in Charlotte’s SouthPark area, the clinic provides Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) programs for adults ages 18 and up.

North Carolina’s greatest asset is its people. We must continue to invest in the health and well-being of our citizens by offering improved access to physical, mental, and behavioral health services to the families that need it,” North Carolina State Representative Carla Cunningham said. “Guidelight’s arrival in Charlotte is a meaningful step forward in that effort—bringing compassionate, evidence-based care to our community and helping more individuals access the support they deserve.”

Guidelight’s programs, covered by most insurance plans, are designed to offer deeper, more consistent support than traditional outpatient therapy. Later this year, Guidelight will open a second Charlotte clinic serving both adolescents and adults, with additional locations planned for the Triangle region in 2026.

“For too long, North Carolinians haven’t had access to in-network, high-quality mental healthcare, specifically, care that fits real lives and delivers real outcomes. I personally know how hard it can be to find affordable care that truly helps,” said Dr. Andy Cruz, Chief Medical Officer of Guidelight. “That’s why I co-founded Guidelight. In a landscape crowded with virtual-only options, our in-person programs offer something different: a place to reconnect, to heal, and to grow. I have family in Charlotte, so bringing this level of care to the community means the world to me.”

Today, Guidelight has four clinics open in Massachusetts and four in Denver, where it provides personalized, evidence-based treatment for conditions like anxiety, depression, trauma, mood disorders, among others. Guidelight’s SouthPark clinic, located at 6060 Piedmont Row Dr. South, Suite 407, is the company’s third state expansion effort – driven by the need for high-quality, accessible mental health services in Charlotte.

According to most recent data available from KFF, a health policy research group, 25% of adults in North Carolina reported symptoms of anxiety and/or depression, 1 in 5 adults in Mecklenburg reported being diagnosed with depression, and 1 in 5 high school students reported seriously considering suicide in the past year.

Guidelight stands apart from other mental health providers by providing fast access to care and being more widely available to clients. Guidelight works with most insurance plans to provide access to care not always available to all Americans. The company also promises to clinically evaluate clients within 24 hours of referral and offer them the chance to begin the program the next business day, if appropriate. This is extremely fast access for higher acuity programs and makes an enormous difference when an individual needs support immediately.

Unlike most behavioral health providers that look at a client’s outcomes following their treatment stay, Guidelight analyzes client-reported data in real time throughout treatment to dynamically incorporate learnings into individualized treatment plans leading to better outcomes. The company is studying its outcomes with two of the nation’s leading universities to ensure clients receive the most effective and impactful treatment.
