Toppen Shopping Centre Expands Its Retail and Lifestyle Offerings with Jaya Grocer and The Sanctum Garden

Jaya Grocer and The Sanctum Garden join Toppen’s vibrant ecosystem as the centre continues to grow as a destination for connection, food, and everyday living

JOHOR BAHRU, Malaysia, July 4, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Toppen Shopping Centre, Johor’s preferred meeting place and community hub, is expanding its offerings this year with two exciting new offers. This August, Jaya Grocer will bring a fresh take on grocery shopping to Toppen, followed by the arrival of The Sanctum Garden in September – a multi concept dining destination by Chao Shan (CS) Group of Restaurants that’s all about food, togetherness, and meaningful moments. These openings reinforce Toppen’s vision to be more than just a shopping centre – it’s a dynamic, people-first space where families, friends, and communities come together every day to live, connect, and celebrate life.

Elevating Everyday Shopping at Jaya Grocer

The new 27,106 sq ft Jaya Grocer is set to open on 31 August 2025. Designed as a welcoming destination for everyday shopping, it marks the brand’s fifth outlet in South Malaysia – and the first to debut a clean, minimalist interior inspired by the simplicity and warmth of Swedish living, thoughtfully tailored to create a unique community experience.

From fresh produce sections to organic, locally source options and kid-friendly snacks, Jaya Grocer caters to health-conscious households looking to shop smarter together. In line with Toppen’s sustainability ethos, the store will also introduce eco-conscious practices like reusable bag incentives and seamless GrabMart integration, making it easier for busy families to shop responsibly and efficiently – whether in store or online.

“We’re proud to expand our footprint in Johor with the opening of Jaya Grocer at Toppen, a location that shares our belief in creating meaningful, community-focused spaces,” said Daniel Teng, Chief Executive Officer at Jaya Grocer. “At Jaya Grocer, we are committed to delivering a premium yet accessible grocery experience that blends quality, freshness, and convenience.”

“This new store also represents our continued investment in innovation, particularly in strengthening our online-to-offline (O2O) integration through GrabMart. This seamless experience has not only benefited our consumers – especially health conscious and time-sensitive families – but also helped us earn the title of Supermarket of the Year 2025 by Retail Asia Awards. As we grow alongside Toppen, we look forward to enriching the everyday lives of Johoreans with a smarter, more rewarding way to shop, both online and in-store,” he added.

A Garden to Gather In: The Sanctum Garden by CS Group

The Sanctum Garden by CS Group of Restaurants is set to bloom at Toppen this September, inviting guests to come together through food and a warm, inviting ambiance. More than just a dining destination, it is a space where celebrations, community, and cuisine unite under one roof. This multi-concept dining destination offers both an ala carte dining experience and a stunning garden-themed banquet setting, thoughtfully designed to host everyday gatherings and life’s most meaningful occasions.

With two elegant banquet halls that can accommodate up to 250 guests each, it’s the ideal venue for weddings, family celebrations, and community events. The ala carte section operates daily, serving up to 300 guests with a comforting atmosphere and a menu that is pork-free, lard-free, and inspired by the rich flavors of Nanyang cuisine.

“We are thrilled to introduce The Sanctum Garden to Toppen, a place where exceptional cuisine meets a warm, inviting atmosphere,’ said Tang Si Yon, Chief Executive Officer of CS Group of Restaurants. “Our vision is to create more than just a dining destination. We want to build a community hub where families, friends, and neighbors can come together to share meals, celebrate life’s special moments, and create lasting memories.”

Toppen: A Hub for Lifestyle Experiences

Toppen continues to evolve its tenant mix to meet the needs of today’s families and communities. From retail and dining to lifestyle experiences and interactive spaces, Toppen has recently opened many new partners such as Pet Lovers Centre, LG PuriCare, HP Concept Store, Miniso, LokalTeez, TEAM2 Hair & Nail Studio and MI Store.

In the coming months, visitors can look forward to the exciting opening of Panda Eyes, Nichii, Clarks, Thong Bowl , YGF Malatang, and Vivo. These new offers, alongside the highly anticipated arrivals of Jaya Grocer and The Sanctum Garden, bring even more variety, convenience, and enjoyment to the Toppen experience.

Sergey Aristarkhov, Toppen Shopping Centre Manager said, “Our vision for Toppen is rooted in sustainable growth that truly makes a positive and lasting impact on our community. Instead of focusing on expanding geographically, we believe in deepening our connection with the local community by continuously enhancing and innovating our existing spaces. We want Toppen to be much more than a shopping centre – it’s a vibrant, one-stop destination where retail, dining, and lifestyle experiences come together seamlessly. Our goal is to create an environment that fosters genuine connections, encourage community interaction, and meets the evolving needs of families and individuals alike. We are committed to providing spaces where people feel welcome, inspired, and supported in their everyday lives.”

Toppen continues to shape spaces that bring people together in ways that feel authentic, intentional, and inspiring, making everyday life not only easier, but better. As part of Ikano Centres, this reflects our ongoing commitment to creating meaningful meeting places that are rooted in community, designed with purpose, and is constantly evolving with exciting experiences, offers, and spaces that respond to the needs of the many people we serve.
